Where the Aggregate amount of such interest to be paid or credited to the account of payee during the financial year does not exceed:

1. Rs. 10,000 in case of a banking company to which the Banking Regulation Act' 1949 applies (including any bank or banking institution, referred to in Section 51 of that Act)
   
   

2. Rs. 10,000 where the payer is a co-operative society engaged in carrying on the business of banking;
   
   

3. Rs. 10,000 on any deposit with post office under any scheme framed by the Central Govt. and notified by it in this behalf; and
   
   

4. Rs. 5,000 in any other case.
